About Me
Rajesh Kumar
Certified Coach
CPCC, ACC
My coaching approach follows the Co-Active model, created by the Co-Active Training Institute (CTI). I have certifications from CTI - Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC) and the International Coach Federation (ICF) - Associate Certified Coach (ACC).
Background
I have a graduate degree in Computer Engineering and spent 25 years in the high-tech industry doing software development and leading multiple R&D teams focused on projects in wireless communications. For the last 20 years in the industry, my work responsibilities also included people management and mentoring. I pioneered many of the “Performance Management” processes in my department and managed that process for the entire time that I was there. In this role, I also mentored and coached a large number of people in the organization and was recognized with a “Distinguished Contributor” award for my efforts. I am an excellent judge of talent and attitude – having successfully hired many of the top performers in the department. After the 25-year stint, I shifted gears and am now pursuing my passion for coaching. I am still doing a little bit of engineering, but coaching is my main focus.
Outside of my engineering and management background, I have a wide breadth of interests and pursuits. My twin loves for travel and the outdoors have come together in visits to multiple countries and many US National Parks. My lifelong interest in physical fitness and activity manifests themselves in many ways: I have been practicing yoga for over 15 years and playing multiple sports, running, and biking for even longer. In particular, I have completed several full and half marathons, and have inspired and guided several (previously) non-runners to do the same. I am financially literate and have managed all my savings and investments on my own. My other passions include reading, writing, and photography (in which I am fairly accomplished). I am an experienced public speaker and I count oral and written communication among my core strengths.
